Staff Editorial

This newspaper is yours. In a time when newspapers and magazines are folding like origami, college publications are some of the few pillars of print journalism that remain standing. The Bullet gives you a weekly dose of facts, insight and laughter; and is absolutely free.

As you set up your dorm rooms, muddle through Eaglelink and judge your roommate based on their Facebook profile, the Bullet is in a period of adjustment as well. Along with a new staff, we have a new printer and a jazzed-up website. Our shiny new video camera indicates that the Bullet is finally entering the 21st century. Keep checking umwbullet.com for videos, breaking news and other web-exclusive updates.

To freshmen and transfer students: welcome! We’re glad you’re here. College is the only time in your life when 15 hours a week is considered full-time, so use the rest of your week to explore our gorgeous campus’s many secrets and nooks. Just make sure you don’t step on the seal on the floor of the Trinkle lobby; legend has it you won’t graduate on time if you do.

Whether you’re new to UMW,or you’ve been wreaking havoc on Campus Walk for years, we want to hear from you. Our job is to inform and entertain you, and we can’t do that without your input. Please send news tips, comments, suggestions, letters-to-the-editor and cookie recipes to umwbullet@gmail.com.    Have a great year, Mary Wash.

How much does it cost to run an babysitting ad in your newspaper. This is what I want to advertise.

Looking for a mature person (preferrably a Sophmore or Junior) to watch my children and provide transportation to after school activities. There is also one early morning involved.
Prefer a student in the education field: I have a special needs child. (high functioning autism/aspergers, add, dysgraphis and auto processing disorder).
I would like somone with math skills, my children are entering 6th and 9th grade.

Call for details on pay rates and times.

    Hi Carol,

I can send you our ad rates if you contact us at umwbullet@gmail.com, but I would recommend makings ads and them posting on the boards along Campus Walk and contacting the Education Dept. (http://www.umw.edu/cas/education/), which I believe has a system or board for telling students about childcare jobs in the area. That might be a better way to find a sitter who you are certain is suitable for a special needs child.
