Disability Resources allows support animals in residence halls

Have you ever wished you could come home to a soft, cuddly animal after a hard day of classes and exams, even if you live on campus? UMW has a program for people with diagnosed disabilities that allows them to keep support animals in residence halls on campus. Campus jobs teach valuable life skills and provide great opportunities

I have always been a person who must keep busy. When I started school at UMW in the fall of 2014, I knew that if I wanted to stay sane I needed to work. Living on campus without a car limited my possibilities for jobs, so I began by applying through the Financial Aid office as a circulation assistant at Simpson Library. Unforeseen pipe burst closes Willard Hall for the 2017-2018 school year

Over the summer a steam pipe burst under Willard Hall, rendering the building uninhabitable for the 2017 to 2018 school year. Bushnell was originally scheduled for summer renovation and was going to be closed during the school year, however, this plan had was postponed as a result of the damage to Willard Hall. After being notified of the change mid-summer, the 91 students who were scheduled to live in Willard were relocated to Virginia Hall and Bushnell Hall.Read More

WMWC radio station gives out CDs on campus, raises club awareness

Unknown to much of the school population, UMW has a radio station called WMWC, which boasts a plethora of interesting and enjoyable programs. They recently have been doing free giveaways on campus walk to increase awareness of the club and de-clutter the station. The station was seen giving out free CDs on Oct. 12, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Lee Hall and has similar events planned for the future.Read More
