In the fall of 2017, the UMW Speaking Center implemented a new scheduling system designed to help and encourage students to make appointments for their academics. The new scheduler, a support system called Campus, was designed by the Education Advisory Board. One feature of Campus is that it has built in tools that make it possible for faculty to attend to their advisees.

On Thursday, April 13 I and three of my friends found ourselves making our way across campus to Klein Theatre where we would proceed to watch a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. That night, what originally started as a class assignment became an enjoyable memory for the four of us.

Students miss classes for many reasons ranging from sickness to dealing with personal issues. In situations when they cannot attend class, students tend to rely on professor’s office hours or notes from classmates in order to find out what they missed. However, a new way to obtain classroom material may become accessible to students soon.
