April 13, 2017 |

By SAVARA GUNN

“My attire just got an upgrade actually because I recently killed the King and I figured I’d take the crown. I found this really nice coat in my closet, and it’s so heavy that it makes it difficult to go down the stairs, but it looks great. I have a pretty rad belt, it looks kind of WWE. I have a lot of red now and it kind of brings out my eyes.”Read More

UMW Style:90s, pastels and button-downs dominate campus fashion

March 23, 2017 |

By SAVARA GUNN

Sarah Hood-Recant, freshman

“This outfit was inspired by a linguistics presentation and I had to look relatively nice for it. I picked this collared shirt because I think it was the first one I saw. These pants are very comfortable and I can move in them and I thought black and white would be a good look for today. My style in general is functioning and comfortable over fashionable so usually sweats. This shirt was actually a Christmas gift because I like all things Hot Topic. This was a really cool shirt for me because my style is androgynous, so I really liked it. It is Fantastic Beasts themed.”Read More

Ugly Christmas sweaters find their niche in holiday wardrobes

December 2, 2015 |

By KELLY EMMRICH

It’s the most wonderful time of the year again, where the holiday season is filled with an overzealous uncles wrestling with decorations, carolers that are just a little bit flat, Grandmas that are slaving over a ham in the oven, and, of course, the adornment of the ubiquitous, ugly Christmas sweaters.Read More

Burn your cargos, become a man

September 19, 2013 |

In my opinion, cargo shorts are one part of the 1990s that should have stayed in the 20th century. Of course, there is a time and a place for everything, and even those ugly shorts have a function. Fishing and hiking, for example. You need all those pockets to store “outdoorsy” things.Read More
