This year, Erin Hopkins joined the University of Mary Washington as the university’s first Confidential Victims’ advocate. She became interested in Mary Washington after UMW received a grant from Department of Justice’s Office of Violence against Women in 2016.

On Thursday, March 22, a group of students and members of the Fredericksburg community gathered in the Digital Auditorium of the Hurley Convergence Center to watch the documentary “Liberated: The New Sexual Revolution.”

The Firearms Club is holding an event called 2A day. This event, similar to previous events will be focused primarily on education. The seminar and series of talks will be held in the Digital Auditorium on March 30.

Responding to the hateful and violent acts that have been taking place throughout the country, various UMW student leaders decided to hold an event that would give students a platform to unite under. On Tuesday, the one month anniversary of the Charlottesville incident, about 75 members of the Mary Washington and Fredericksburg community gathered in front of Lee Hall to participate in the UMW Speaks Out Against White Supremacy rally.
