‘Tis the season for reboots, remakes and sequels. If you’re wondering what movies are worth watching this winter break, this comprehensive list is here to help you navigate through this season’s latest cinematic offerings. Since a lot of the movies coming out these next few weeks are continuations of franchises or reboots, I have given each of these movies an approval rating, based on whether that franchise is still fresh and hyped up or whether its overdone. So in order from least anticipated and not that great to incredibly hyped and amazing, here are the picks for Holiday Movie Season 2017.

Fans of comic book movies have been treated well in recent months. DC Comics took the world by surprise back in June with “Wonder Woman,” their biggest hit yet, but Marvel Comics fans have still been getting their fill with the likes of “Guardians of the Galaxy” Vol. 2 and “Spider-Man Homecoming” back in June. However, the excitement didn’t end over the summer. With Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok” and DC’s “Justice League” both coming out next month, the hype train is still rolling and likely won’t stop anytime soon.

The year 2016 is stockpiled with some of the most anticipated superhero movies of all time. From both the DC and Marvel cinematic universes, major strides will be taken this year in both franchises as the new “arms race” of superhero movies is well underway. Marvel struck first this year with one of the most heavily, and controversially, marketed movies in recent memory. “Deadpool” took over Valentine’s weekend with record numbers, and for good reason.
