On Saturday, January 20, the University of Mary Washington Leadership Winter Symposium took place on UMW’s campus in Dodd Auditorium. The Winter Symposium, put on by the Student Leadership Committee, was a mandatory program for all student organization leaders; and built upon the meaningful conversations that were held during the August Leadership Summit.

Ever wonder what it would be like to eat a three-course dinner with the UMW President, Troy Paino, and his wife at their historic Brompton home? Ten lucky UMW students had that pleasure on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

With the student population increasing at the University of Mary Washington, a need for new academic buildings arose, and a plan to repurpose and expand on previously used buildings was set into place. Renovations around campus began in the spring of 2014 and continued until their completion in the fall of 2015. The university has a strong dedication to restoration and the preservation of its history, and the newly opened Woodard and Mercer Halls are examples of this.
