Unforeseen pipe burst closes Willard Hall for the 2017-2018 school year

Over the summer a steam pipe burst under Willard Hall, rendering the building uninhabitable for the 2017 to 2018 school year. Bushnell was originally scheduled for summer renovation and was going to be closed during the school year, however, this plan had was postponed as a result of the damage to Willard Hall. After being notified of the change mid-summer, the 91 students who were scheduled to live in Willard were relocated to Virginia Hall and Bushnell Hall.Read More

Sudden end to security contract at Eagle Landing leaves front desk attendant postion vacant

Bushnell Hall closing next year for upgrades

Beginning next fall semester, Bushnell Hall will be closed for maintenance, according to the University of Mary Washington’s housing selection website. It will reopen for the 2018-2019 term. To accommodate the displaced students, the third and fourth floors of Jefferson Hall will revert from single to double occupancy. The main reason that Bushnell is being closed is so that air conditioning window units can be installed. However, that is not the only change coming to Bushnell, there will be multiple updates to appliances in the kitchens and study lounges as well.Read More

Students are engulfed in confusion over forbidden items in dorms

Moving in as a freshman, especially trying to think of all the new supplies needed, can be very stressful. However, with University of Mary Washington’s long and ever-growing list of prohibited items in dorm rooms, moving in can be made even more difficult and frustrating.
