Nationwide, eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating are on the rise. Women and adolescents age 18-21 are especially susceptible to developing symptoms of such disorders. This makes college students, and female college students in particular, a disproportionately affected group.

Since its opening, many students have complained about the choices at the dining hall in the University Center. To solve these problems I have created a list of tips for learning the ins and outs of the UC.

This year, Campus Dining has made an exerted effort to help University of Mary Washington students appreciate common food more by making them less available, and for that, I’m grateful. Taking away what we students want teaches humility and patience, two invaluable skills that college students do not usually learn. Dining has also hosted many events to bolster their menu, and provide cultural flare.
