Womens club soccer to compete nationally

The University of Mary Washington women’s club soccer will be the only NCAA Division III team to compete in the 2013 National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Championship in Arizona this week.

club-soccerThe University of Mary Washington women’s club soccer will be the only NCAA Division III team to compete in the 2013 National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Championship in Arizona this week.

The team will go to Phoenix, Az. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 and will play its first game against Vanderbilt University on Thursday, Nov. 21.

UMW will be playing in the open division, which includes both divisions I and II schools, such as Cornell University, the University of Colorado and the University of Virginia.

This is the first time that one of UMW’s club soccer programs will compete in a national championship.
